Old school toupeed TV anchor Sam Donaldson, late of ABC News, says the Network News is done and , "The monster anchors are through." Quoted by Bill McConnell at Broadcasting & Cable, reporting on a National Association of Broadcasters' convention, Sam also said, "God forbid, if someone shot the President, which network would you turn to? It will be cable, the Internet--something other than General Hospital being interrupted."
The panelists agreed that the Blog Phenomena is a good thing for "the news", because it keeps reporters honest, but didn't mention any connection between this honesty thing and the demise of the Net News. Must be a coincidence.
