Burn some gasoline this weekend

Our friends in the oil business, like Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Venezuela, want you to take a road trip this weekend. Hell, you should take a whole week of vacation and drive somewhere. Never mind the cost of gas; it isn't likely to get any cheaper in the future. Burn some now, while you can still afford it.

I suggest readers in or near Nebraska get the whole family in the car and take a scenic drive to North Platte. The highly touted Nebraskaland Days is starting now, and here is just a sampler of the things you'll see if you go.

This big event looks like a real bit of Nebraska-style wild west fun. Just right for those seeking the feel of the frontier without the extremes one might encounter at competing events, e.g. Cheyenne, Wyoming's Frontier Days. Not so many German tourists.

So, what are you waiting for? Get in the car. Burn some gas.
