A good sign from the northern prairies

From Small Dead Animals comes word that Canadian military recruitment is up 250% from a year ago in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and northwestern Ontario. As these areas apparently have relatively low unemployment the motive seems to be patriotism and the opportunity to serve in Afghanistan.
