Midwest quake on anniversary of 1906 San Francisco biggie

San Francisco - April 18, 1906
Odd coincidence? The earthquake that shook southern Illinois, and St. Louis, Mo. early this morning occurred on the anniversary of the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906. Almost at the the same time of day as well.

The New Madrid fault is believed involved in todays quake. That fault has caused several big quakes in the past. Should one like the 1811 temblor strike today, St. Louis and many other now heavily populated areas would see severe destruction.
