The above image is that of an old gas pump globe from a 2006 auction in Des Moines of gasoline memorabilia. Some day it will all be memorabilia but for now it's serious business. I cringe at the thought of price controls. I'd prefer the gas to be available even if I couldn't afford to buy much of it than to have it priced so artificially low that the pumps would run dry the next time a crisis erupts.
