We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.Just as strong and as well-funded as the US military? Presumably, President Obama would be the Commander in Chief of this second army of federal civil servants. The story made me think of the Red Guard. Do you remember China's Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution? I do.
It was another "Change" movement; its goal was the same "Change" Barack Obama invokes like a mystic seer. The primary force for change in the Cultural Revolution was the Red Guard, or Hóng Wèi Bīng. They were a civilian outfit devoted to the re-invigoration of revolutionary political correctness, i.e., Maoist ideological purity.
The Red Guard's stated enemies were the Four Olds: old ideas, old cultures, old habits, and old customs. They would make your life miserable if you were though guilty of harboring any of them. Their methods were slightly less horrific than Pol Pot's civilian force, the Khmer Rouge.

Would you join Obama's civilian force? Will there be conscription? How will you receive Obama's Red Guard when they come to your door?

Others are comparing Obama's civilian forces to the East German Stasi, Hitler Youth, Brown Shirts, etc. Barack is going to exhaust the world supply of nasty totalitarian metaphors before November.
As usual, BO's reaction to this story is to purge it.

Update: Barack Obama's "civilian security force" plan is quite possibly inspired by communist Cuba's Comités de Defensa de la Revolución (CDR). The Cuban CDRs are not only comparable to Obama's plan, but it is probable that Obama has studied the Cuban 'spy on your neighbor' scheme. Its no secret that there is an immense mutual admiration between the Cuban dictatorship and the presumed Democrat candidate for the US presidency. Pay attention to those who know all about civilian defense forces here at Babalu blog.
