Many youngsters don't know what it was like having atomic bombs pointed at us day and night, year after year by Rooskies who were even flakier then than they are now. Democrat Lyndon Johnson used this ad showing a child pulling daisy petals off morphing into a missile countdown and nuclear blast to leverage this fear in his run for the White House. I guess it worked, LBJ beat out Barry Goldwater. (What a shame!) The Johnson campaign was widely criticized for resorting to such tactics.
Now we have this ad from high-road Hillary trying to elevate the fear of today's world instability to the level of our old fear of Mutually Assured Destruction. I invite you to compare an contrast the two Democrat videos.
Talk about tearing a page right out of nasty old Lyndon Baines Johnson's playbook. What next, Ms. Clinton, another Gulf of Tonkin? Maybe dog torture? Vote for me or I'll pull the puppy's ears off!
---
Update: Obama weighs in. Barack Obama has released his own ad in response to Hillary's 'fear mongering'. [No link yet, but I saw it on Fox. I think.] In it, Barack appears to be saying that its time to quit worrying about the 9/11 Jihad attacks on the US. I guess we won the GWOT, and the Jihad is no longer a threat. Now thats real hope in action!

Are Fanatical Mohammedans thin-skinned, or what?
In Pakistan, fanatical Mohammedan officials blocked You-Tube recently, using a particularly egregious technology, Border Gateway Protocol Injection. In Africa, Nasty Sudanese Mohahammed fanatics are renewing the Mohammedan effort to harm Denmark. Both of these items are continuing reverberations of the original Mohammed cartoon days of rage more than two years ago.
Do these idiots either have nothing better to do than make public fools of themselves over supposed slights to their hellishly twisted beliefs? Mohammedan fanatics need to repent of their wicked, murderous ways or else grow thicker skins. Thick enough to withstand something more than cartoons.
They can warm up by trying to laugh at Hammie's new tattoo. You remember Hammie, no? Or a chucle out of Tor Hershman's Mrs. Potato Head, the fundamentalist Islam version.
---
I should get someone that can eat it a Danish ham. I'm forbidden to eat ham by my gastroenterologist. Too much sodium.

A fond remembrance of William F. Buckley

1968 - Chicago
Now listen, you queer, stop calling me a crypto-Nazi or I’ll sock you in your goddamn face and you’ll stay plastered. At the time I already knew Gore Vidal was a communist pervert. It was good to hear him called out. Bill Buckley wasn't just a wizard of the English language and a true intellect, he was a Mensch. Too bad he's dead.
---
One of my ex-brother-in-laws, the one that went to prison rather than be drafted, has an 8X10 glossy photo of him getting tossed into a van by the Chicago cops at about the same time. The whole world was watching. That was his convention high point.

Thank a Teacher's Union

Its all for the kids
Among 1,200 students surveyed:When I hear stories like this, I feel very little hope for a future filled with hope. Save us O great Bama! Give us hope. And some change, too.In all, students earned a C in history and an F in literature, though the survey suggests students do well on topics schools cover.
- 43% knew the Civil War was fought between 1850 and 1900.
- 52% could identify the theme of 1984.
- 51% knew that the controversy surrounding Sen. Joseph McCarthy focused on communism.

Kiss of Death
An endorsement from Nation of Islam madman Louis Farrakhan ought to finish off any political candidate. Probably not Barack Obama. He can thank American liberals' deep-seated dislike for Hillary Clinton for the absorbing the stigma of having the fanatical Mohammedan call him the "hope of the entire world". I guess its OK because, unlike the church he attends, Obama doesn't like that part of Farrakhan that hates Jews. Or thinks president Bush likes to drown Negroes.

Letter to Nebraska Governor Heineman Re: Smoking Ban
For our local readers: here is a copy of a letter the old feeder sent off to Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman urging him to veto the state-wide smoking ban passed by the Unicameral:
---
Reminder: From reader Paul Bachmann "In addition to the governor, we need to write our state senator. The bill passed with 34 votes, it only takes 30 to over ride a veto."
---
Updated: Governor Hieneman gives in to the ban-everything unpleasant gang, signs this ill-conceived, anti-freedom bill. This does much to knock the shine off my view of the Governor. Whats next, Dave? Second-hand cooking odors?
Don't let the 'public health' argument outweigh the 'property rights' argument in deciding to veto the smoking ban or not.If you live in Nebraska and think property rights ought to be preserved, send your message to Governor Heineman TODAY!
Can't the legislature use the 'public health' argument to justify banning anything harmful? Like potato chips or butter? Where does that rationale lead us?
The regulation of everyday life law!
We aren't a communist state. Nobody is forced to work under smoky conditions. Medical doctors change their minds all the time. (Remember when eggs were bad for you?) Property rights are enshrined in the US Constitution and our State Constitution. The public health argument stems from court decisions and acts of legislatures.
Please let the Constitution prevail in this case; veto the smoking ban.

Jihad in the USA
Its time to uncover the sources of fanatical Mohammedanism in the US. The World Net Daily reports a finding by the Mapping Sharia in America Project that 3 out of 4 mosques in the US preach Jihad. These so-called houses of worship also teach and promote other aspects of fanatical Mohammedanism that are incompatible with the American way of life, such as Sharia law. An excerpt:
By the time the western world is ready for another Crusade, we won't have a secure base from which to start. We need to criminalize the Jihad here at home before we can begin to rid the world at large of this monstrous threat to every decent civilization.
The Mapping Sharia in America Project, sponsored by the Washington-based Center for Security Policy, has trained former counterintelligence and counterterrorism agents from the FBI, CIA and U.S. military, who are skilled in Arabic and Urdu, to conduct undercover reconnaissance at some 2,300 mosques and Islamic centers and schools across the country. On a 'watchlist' indeed! These churches that preach murder and oppression must not only be exposed, but outlawed and eliminated. OMG, did I just suggest that the US should pass a law 'respecting an establishment of religion'? Wouldn't that violate the First Amendment? I think not. Not any more than it violates our Constitution to outlaw human sacrifices or animal cruelty in the name of religion.
"So far of 100 mapped, 75 should be on a watchlist," an official familiar with the project said.

New York Times gets down in the mud
The New York Times today regurgitated an old 'scandal' involving Senator John McCain. Like most folks, I don't believe these scurrilous stories about some inappropriate relationship between John and a lady not his wife. McCain might be lots of things, but an indiscreet Lothario isn't one of them.

Ashamed to be an American
Democrat presidential front-runner Barack Obama is so charismatic and eloquent that he has to depend on his wife, Michelle, to make campaign gaffes for him. I guess she's been saying that she was never proud of America until her man decided to run for president.
I got all the details and a different take on a point of view not all that different from Ms. Obama's at Michelle Malkin's blog. If you want to ruin your day, here are some Google searches for other folks who are ashamed of America:
---
The Domestic Divapalooza wears the same shirt but admits she is sometimes embarrassed by her country. There is a world of difference between being embarrassed and ashamed (which is the opposite of being proud). Anyone who has traveled much knows about such circumstantial embarrassments. Bill Clinton's shenanigans often caused me to be embarrassed.

castro retires while breathing
Almost too busy to blog today.
Breaking one of the cardinal rules of western hemisphere communist dictators, Fidel Castro has 'retired' while still alive. His brother Raul may bring changes. I don't know. All I'm sure of right now is that we will have to listen to the the Main Stream Media gush over him twice; now and again when the murderous oppressor finally croaks.

Democrats not all happy with their candidates, either
Christopher Cooper's column appears in the Wiscasset Newspaper in Maine. This week he offers an insightful analysis of the 2008 election process from a genuinely liberal point of view. He covers all the action to date, both Republican and Democrat. He says his own choices don't satisfy. The column even reveals a respect for Fred Thompson when he was in his mysterious ascendancy. I knew the libs were afraid of Fred! Its a good read, here are some excerpts:
---
Afterthought: Cooper might well have asked if Better Than McCain would make a good campaign slogan. Bush isn't running. Your eyelids are getting heavy...
I have enjoyed this marvelous extended primary season.Mr. Cooper's I Can't Get No (Satisfaction) piece reads like a bizarre reflection of the complaints I hear in the parallel world of conservatism of late. Its all an illusion. When you wake up, you will feel refreshed. You will remember nothing.
---
The GOP, however often and greatly it has failed us, deserves at least full credit for taking up the slack in our entertainment schedule caused by the writer's strike.
---
Hillary (which is what all her signs say, probably so as to not remind us of any previous Clintons we might have known) is slightly more liberal than Ronald Reagan was.
---
So the numbers are coming up for Barack Hussein Obama. And Good God, doesn't the press love him! Oh, Bama! He's such an inspiring speaker! He's so charismatic! He's like a Kennedy! Exactly. They told us this amazing young politician from Illinois would speak at the 2004 Democratic convention. He would astound us with his insight and rhetoric. I listened. I watched. I heard a thin, vague speech which left me with no particular inspiration and no clever language to take to work the next day and marvel over with my co-workers.
---
Is "Better Than Bush" a good campaign slogan? Is it a proper standard?

Afterthought: Cooper might well have asked if Better Than McCain would make a good campaign slogan. Bush isn't running. Your eyelids are getting heavy...

Slate: Barack Obama a natural for the Catholic vote
In a nauseating display of political disinformation (or ignorance) Douglas Kmiec, constitutional law chair at Pepperdine University in Malibu, writes in Slate: "Sorry, McCain. Barack Obama is a natural for the Catholic vote." Yes, and night is day. Carl Olson fisks the article here at Insight Scoop.
I'm not a Catholic, but I'm betting that the Pope hasn't changed church policy on abortion. At least not so far as to include Barack Obama's extreme views.
Look on the good side. After President Obama gets finished appointing federal judges and Supreme Court justices, it will be OK to kill your children any time before their 18th birthday. If you think they might be endangering your physical or mental health, that is.

Leftist Talk Radio is Sick
Leftists just don't seem to be able to put on a radio show that doesn't stink on ice. Remember Air America, the now defunct leftist talk radio network featuring comical Al Franken? Or Whoopi Goldberg's failed radio show Wake Up With Whoopi? Failures all.
Now one of the only successful lefty talk radio hosts (and he is only successful because his audience is in San Franfreako has taken a fall. Seems Bernie Ward, beloved of the fruit and nut folks in SF was caught sharing kiddie pornography over the internet. Bernie was in a perverted sex chat room asking for sexual humiliation when he grossed out one of the other perv denizens with his child porno. The other pervert, a lady going by the moniker SexFairy, turned him into the cops.
Liberalism is often associated with sexual perversions or blasé acceptance of same. Its a sickness.
---
When the Democrats take the White House next year, we can expect a return of the inherently unfair "fairness doctrine" at the FCC. Then there will be full employment for idiots like Whoopi and Franken, and a forum for perverts like Bernie. I can't wait.
---

What do Barack Obama and Chuck Hagel have in common?
Q: What do Senators Barack Obama and Chuck Hagel have in common?
A: They would both like to ask the United Nations to collect a tax from Americans to be used to alleviate global poverty. In fact, the bill is named the Global Poverty Act. The UN would get the money and use it to help out the poor as they see fit: by a Marxist redistribution of wealth. That ain't all. From the National Ledger:

In addition to seeking to eradicate poverty, that declaration commits nations to banning “small arms and light weapons” and ratifying a series of treaties, including the International Criminal Court Treaty, the Kyoto Protocol (global warming treaty), the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Senate has just passed it, while the media helped hush it up. Red Indian Political Correctness
Heard on the Glenn Beck radio show today, found the story at the NY Post. A rich cat in a divorce tried to get a ring back from his soon-to-be-ex wife. Her lawyer responds by calling him a "Native American giver".
How could the lawyer have taken such pains to make the accusation PC and fail to see the implied racial slur, i.e. that Red Indians can't comprehend property law or are dishonest? Avoiding the non-PC word Injun didn't make the epithet any less a racial slur.

US to shoot down spy satellite - message to Red China?
This unexpected news just fell into my inbox:
I don't know how the US will avoid the same criticisms. Seems like Cold War II is getting started.
---
Read more here.
NEWS ALERTNote that the US and other nations were critical of the People's Republic of China when they destroyed one of their satellites with a missile. Some cats claimed China's actions then constituted saber rattling, sending a message to the US and Russia. Others were concerned about the large amount of space junk that remains in orbit from the explosion.
from The Wall Street Journal
Feb. 14, 2008
The Pentagon is planning to shoot down a broken spy satellite that was expected to hit the Earth in early March, according to the Associated Press. U.S. officials said that the option preferred by the Bush administration will be to fire a missile from a U.S. Navy cruiser, and shoot down the satellite before it enters Earth's atmosphere.

Solidarity with Danish Cartoonists
Michelle Malkin has asked her readers to republish the Mohammed cartoons reprint to show solidarity with cartoonists facing death threats (fatwas) in Europe, specifically Denmark. I'm going to play, since the Mohammedan fanatics hate me already.
Thats enough solidarity with the Danes for one night. I don't need much of an excuse to insult Mahometan fanatics.
Two years ago, the Mohammed cartoon conflagration consumed the world and the blogosphere helped lead the way in fighting back. Longtime readers will remember that this site hammered the issue in support of Denmark. “Sammenhold,” you may recall, is the Danish word for solidarity. With the arrests this week of five jihadists accused of plotting to murder one of the Danish cartoonists, it’s time to demonstrate sammenhold again. If there is one thing I've never been able to tolerate, it is intolerance. Here are a few of the tolerance testing cartoonish works from the old feeder's *Paint Shop Pro. Click the pics for details.

Nikita Khrushchev rises from tomb, asks for shovel
Former First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and Chairman of the Council of Ministers Nikita Khrushchev, who has been officially dead since September 11, 1971 (no coincidence) has been reported to have returned to life today. According to clandestine Russian language blogs, Nikita clawed his way out of his grave, startling some Canadian tourists.
Claire and Pierre Bonhomme of Quebec were touring famous communist grave sites at Novodevichy Cemetery when the officially denied resurrection occurred. They had no comment, except to say that they would be vacationing in Cuba next year.
The couple had been relaxing and listening to Glenn Beck on the radio stating that every choice for American voters in the 2008 presidential race represented a step toward communism when the amazingly well-preserved Communist emerged and asked for a shovel.

GOP Nomination tainted by Soros money
If what I have read about today at World Net Daily is true, then Republicans should demand a do-over of their entire nominating process. Jerome Corsi writes that John McCain's campaign has been funded in part by that antithesis of everything conservative, George Soros. You know, Mr. MoveOn.org, the man whose money infuses Marxist websites and phony front organizations.
This secret meddling with our nomination process, if true, goes to illustrate just how far Marxist thinkers have penetrated our society. They mean to enslave us, make no mistake. We cannot tolerate having communist secret agents tweaking the GOP choice for a US Presidential candidate. Its worse than the Manchurian Candidate scenario, only because it is even more devious.
Can you believe that every single front runner in the race for the White House is funded and backed by our old cold war enemies? That the Republican nominating process has been corrupted by sworn enemies of the America way? What should we do?
Nothing short of a do-over will satisfy me.

Barack Obama's Marxist Plan for America
Barack Obama on the Marxist Redistribution of Wealth:
What you have here is a basic statement of Marxist ideology. The same scheme that has failed every time it has been tried. If Barack Obama is given the power to implement his Marxist plan for America, our country will no longer be the United States our founding fathers designed and our forbears defended. We will be no different from the old, failed Soviet Union, and after Barack Obama's Marxist plan for America fails for us, we will be as miserable and poor as the post Marxist Soviet Union is today.
Don't give Barack Obama a chance to ruin America with failed Marxist policies. Do not cast your vote for a Marxist America.
I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw this photo. Is there any doubt about the internalization of Marxist thought by the Democrat party? It borders on treachery.
This ought to be an eye-opener. Now we can see that both Democrat candidates are overtly promoting communist plans for the US. Now we can see what kind of change Barack is preaching. The cold war has come to the home front. Its time to dust off some of the political forewarnings from the 1950's. Buy this book and read it. If it isn't already too late.
Obama can't bring himself to formulate the change he promises in clear Marxist form as well as Hillary Clinton. She's from the old school; instead of getting stoned like Barack, she spent her youth flogging the likes of Saul Alinsky. Marxist epigrams roll off her tongue. Now consider that Barack Obama is by any measure more "liberal" than Hillary Clinton.

Updated: Get the latest revelations of Barack Obama's Communist connections: Joe McCarthy's awful legacy: President Obama.
As radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf, and that hasn’t shifted and one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was, um, because the civil rights movement became so court focused I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. In some ways we still suffer from that. This statement is from a radio interview given by Barack Obama on Chicago Public Radio in 2001. It is pretty straightforward Marxist thought. In summary: first he will to re-interpret the US Constitution to allow the government to take wealth from each according to his ability, then he will form a legislative coalition that will bring about redistribution of that wealth according to need.
What you have here is a basic statement of Marxist ideology. The same scheme that has failed every time it has been tried. If Barack Obama is given the power to implement his Marxist plan for America, our country will no longer be the United States our founding fathers designed and our forbears defended. In his biography of Barack Obama, David Mendell writes about Obama’s life as a “secret smoker” and how he “went to great lengths to conceal the habit.” But what about Obama’s secret political life? It turns out that Obama’s childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, was a communist.
In his books, Obama admits attending “socialist conferences” and coming into contact with Marxist literature. But he ridicules the charge of being a “hard-core academic Marxist,” which was made by his colorful and outspoken 2004 U.S. Senate opponent, Republican Alan Keyes.

Republican Lockstep?
Fox news says conservatives are united against Hillary, but thats about the only thing on which they can agree. I don't know. What will you do? Get in line behind John McCain? Encourage a fight to get Huck on the ticket? Let America become a Marxist nation by voting for a Democrat (both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are overtly socialists) or a third party sure loser?
I'm not asking just for the hell of it.

Maria do Carmo Miranda da Cunha
Today is Carmen Miranda's birthday. Picture of her without a garish hat here.
Old Sparky Unplugged
More "its torture" nonsense from the codgers at the Nebraska Supreme Court. Seems they have ruled that our electric chair violates our own state constitution. Mickey suggests we use the old feeder's white sauce recipe to eliminate undesirable miscreants from our otherwise 'good life'. In my opinion, we need only wait for Sharia to be implemented here in the heartland.

The UK's "no-go" zones - Sharia in the 'hood
The Archbishop of Canterbury, the head of the United Kingdom's official state religion, is getting raked over the coals these days. Dr. Rowan Williams is accused of calling for Islamic law, aka Sharia to be incorporated into the British legal system. Maybe he meant something else, that Sharia is in some sense inevitable.
It isn't just that Sharia is a primitive and brutal system of laws requiring horrific punishments, it is the generally recognized crimes that go unpunished under Sharia that also make its application anywhere unwise. It is already putting down roots in the UK, especially in the Mohammedan enclaves the Archbishop has called "no-go zones" for non-Moslems. There are those who would see this same corruption brought to Canada and the US.
To alloy Sharia with English common law corrupts what is arguably the most civilized legal system ever used on the planet. If sensible people everywhere do not resist the spread of this fanatical religious law, it will insinuate itself into your own home town sooner or later. You won't like it.

Calm down?
Sorry, but I really haven't felt like posting anything since I got wised up to the fact that the Republican Party has been successfully penetrated by lefty liberals and anti-progress eco-nuts. I still haven't decided what I'll do about this revolting development.
John McCain suggests that conservatives should calm down and fall into line behind him as he embraces every wacko, dangerous and discredited plank in the Democrat platform. I think conservatives have been sold out by the pork-shoveling Republican Party insiders. They can see how easy it is to buy votes with idiotic feel-good programs and outright wealth redistribution.
To calm down, the old feeder tweaked up an old java applet that you can use to help you decide which way to turn. If you are asking yourself, "should I hold my nose and get in line, or should I switch?" then you need to play

Cheap Date
PT's pissed off about Super Tuesday and doesn't feel like blogging so this blog is going to the dogs. A movie theater in Austria is having a monthly Doggy Day to bring in a little extra business. Free popcorn for your date(s); how can you beat that?

Abú Laith al-Libi: at least we didn't waterboard him
Chalk one up for the good guys. A top leader of Al-Qaeda in Pakistan has been killed in situ by the US CIA. This proves that even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while.
Of course, the fanatical Mohammedan Jihadists are saying that Abu Layth al-Libi "fell like a martyr" but we know he was ratted out by his own scummy pals for some CIA cash. The official word is that he was killed in "CIA airstrike". I bet they greased the nasty terrorist with one of their unmanned aerial vehicles.
He's lucky they didn't take him alive. Some things are worse than death, like being denied habeas corpus and waterboarding.
